I would like to share a poem and a lesson I learned with you.
If you have a tender message,
Or a loving word to say
Do not wait till you forget it
But whisper it today.
The tender word unspoken,
The letter never sent
The long forgotten messages,
The wealth of love unspent.
For these words some hearts are breaking,
For these words some love ones wait,
So show them that you care for them,
Before it is too late.

In 1989 my grandfather Mahlon Kitching passed away peacefully in his sleep.
It happened one month before my first wedding. I had come back to town to make preparations for the wedding. Always when I would come back the first place I went was to go visit my grandfather. This time I decided not to see him until the next day. He passed away that night.
From then on my life changed. I vowed to always hug my family everytime we parted and to NEVER put off until tomorrow how I feel about them today.
I learned to always live for today in case tomorrow doesn’t come.
I love you Grandad. I still do.
encouraging you to live for today,
Paula
Thank you for the wonderful post. I have always grown up telling my parents and close family members I loved them before hanging up the phone or departing. For you do not know, what tomorrow brings. Garth Brooks has a song…”If Tomorrow Nevers Comes”; this sings true with your post. Will they know how much they meant to you.
